Tomorrow I’m doing a mobile workshop with Donna Wilson and I have to do some research on mobiles, so this is from Elfenwiege on Etsy. It’s needle felted and depicts the Seven Raven’s fairytale.
Expect a lot of mobile posts over the nest few weeks!
Fairytale jewellery by Falmouth graduate Theresa Jaeschke.
“This collection explores the fairy tale of Bluebeard. The series of personal art objects represent five stages of the story: Trust, Temptation, Blood, Magic and Betrayal.
The jewellery design continues to pursue the story’s themes such as the tense relationship between Bluebeard and his new wife and the dangers of keeping secrets.”

Another prominent craft maker at the moment is Anya Keeley. She creates beautiful pieces, often making shadow boxes, creatures, assemblage, jewellery and the like. She uses a lot of wire and her work has a fun fairytale quality to it in a qwirky Tim Burton-esque way.
“From a very young age, I have compulsively collected found objects and ephemera, squirreling them away into jars and boxes. Enticed by the beauty of patina, that only comes with age and wear, I assemble these pieces into whimsical works of art.
Inspiration comes from fantastical fairy tales, nursery rhymes and the curiousness of the natural world. Often the creatures I make are pure figments of my imagination. I try to envisage theoddities that many Victorian explorers could have encountered on their voyages to different lands. These whimsies are then caged, named and categorized. A museum of my own fantasy.”
